Created Issue: PropertyImageUrl not maintaining value [1170]

Hi Lee,

We're using version 1.6.3 and have noticed something quite odd.

We have an entity that has a property that uses the PropertyImageUrl, just as in the Image Gallery example. The Editor can add items into the collection, and edit them, however when editing the values are not set for any properties using the type PropertyImageUrl. The strange thing is that if I change the property to use PropertyUrl instead, the values are retained when editing.

Have you seen this already? Any thoughts on a fix.

FYi:

We are using:

- EPiServer 6 R2
- Composer (although this bug is occuring both as a composer property and as a page property)
- Relate+

Hi Croweman,
I am using the latest ElencySolutions.MultipleProperty dll (1.6.3) . I have went through the usage docuemnt. Actually there is one change request in my project it requires certaing fields to be disabled based on a check box value i.e. if Email Alert is checked only then alllow Email Content block to be enabled. I am not pretty sure we can achieve this you the example provide in usage documentation. We can definately give user a message other way round stating Email Content is filled provided the Email Alert checkbox is checked using the ValidateEntry method. But i wanted to know whether can we disable a control inside the Validate Entry method is it possible the control belogns to Edit Mode of episerver cms6 r2 How you have shown example of Image Gallery i have a similar Document gallery with lot of controls for each document and email fields are part of this indvidual document ?

The second thing i am using the Add New image functionality there is request from my users that when we addd Images or documents they come down. Hence if the webeditor adds 100 such images or documents he has to scroll down. What they require if we click Add New Image it should show that record on the top the newly added. Is this possible at first place ?
I know they can click on the Sort arrow and bring that image on top but that is not feasible it number of records are more that 20 odd or 50. Do you have any suggestions or i will advice the users that they have to live with it. Basically they need this in the Edit mode hence i cannot put any logic had it been in view mode i could have used genric list and put some sorting logic. What are your thoughts ... .

I have just added my base classes with Document Structure in general .

Any inputs for both the above queries will be highly appericated in advance.

Hi ,
I was going through the above document but while implementing ValidateEntity i could not found the override method in my dll (Assembly ElencySolutions.MultipleProperty.dll, v2.0.50727).
Basically i wanted to validate some data and then only allow user to add the images like to check if the user selects Landscape then allow only Landsacpe image we can get the width and height of image and check that but this version is not having a ValidateEntity is there any other override in the above dll that take cares of this. It is little urgent........

Is there any other work-around in the current dll which forces the user to stay on the page if some validation fails in the edit mode as there was ValidateEntity in older version of the dll v1.6.3 as per the doucment on the portal.

Basically i have to give user a radio button facility showing Landscape and Portrait image upload's now once user clicks ADD NEW IMAGE it will check the width and height of Image against the selected Radio button value if both matches i.e. user selects Landscape and Width is more then height then allow user to upload the image else force him to be on the page. Which currently i cannot figure out how to handle the reason being the method ValidateEntity is not there.

In General if you could send me some code MultiplePropertyBase which allows users to stay on the block if validation fails. I no there is required attribute but i needed something dynamic.

Hi,
I am afraid you are right the version is 1.2.0.0 and what i added in above description was the Runtime version. Hence i believe if i take the latest version download which has the documentation in place and i assume it will be correct i can use the validate entry method.

I was bit of concern that my site is already gone live with the older version of 1.2.0.0 and i was requested to carryout some enhancements on the specific modules. I then explored for the ElencySolutions on the .NET and started my enhancements. I feel if i replace the higher version 1.6. xxx whatever mentioned in the website it will not break my application i feel the higher versions should take care of the same but anyways i need to try that.

One more basic query i have can i have multiple DocumentList defined for a single Episerver Page as two properties. I tried that and it allows but for some strange reasion when i click Add New Image button both the blocks should show me seperate set of fields but they are showing me the same the DocumentList one basically the Document Page field. I have made a MediaDocument Page also and added some more controls and wanted to add some validation hence i raised the first call but since you pointed out correctly the version might be wrong i feel you can give me some inputs were i might be goind wrong. I am attaching a zip version of my library and some images of episerver so you can have a look on it provided you get some time. The images presently are not showing the Add New Image button for the other MediaDocument class but it was visible earlier may be something in the file i did wrong and it stopped showing me the button yeah i remember i changed to MedaiDocument instead of Document and it stopped. But my main concern was if we click MediaDocument Add New Image Link it should show me the MediaDocument related fields and not the Document related page fields. I no somewhere i might be going wrong but since very new cannot figure out. I would really appericate if you can spent some time and give your valuable inputs then it will be nice. I have registered the documents or blocks in composer edit and there also i could not see the Add New Image button but i am not provided a screen-shot for that. In case you require something more let me know. The project is little confidential i hope you will keep this to you only.........

There is a limitation of upload hence i have send only the required files. Kindly check the MediaDocumentList folder and DocumentList Folder since i feel something wrong i have done there......

There is no version v2.0.5072. Maybe your web application or class library project is not being build against the correct .Net framework as the .Net generics do not seem to be working for you?

I'm using MultipleProperty v1.6.3 with EPiServer 6.0.530.1 (.NET 3.5) and get the following crash as soon as I try to create a new page that has my multiproperty on it:

Unable to load one or more of the requested types. Retrieve the LoaderExceptions property for more information.

The call stack doesn't contain any of my own code, so I figure it's some other problem. I've tried with the examples provided but still get this crash. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I'm having some trouble getting search to return hits for text inside PropertyXhtmlString-properties in the multiproperty.

Here is an example of one of the xhtmlproperties in my code:

[MultiplePropertyEntityProperty(Caption = "MyCaption", Type = typeof(PropertyXhtmlString), SortIndex = 300, Required = false)] [DataMember] public string StepContent { get; set; }

Is this a known bug, or am I doing something wrong?

Project Description

The MultipleProperty classes are for use in EPiServer CMS 6 and provide an easy way for developers to build complex custom properties that comprise of other EPiServer of custom properties. One of the key features of this implementation is that the properties work with user defined entity objects and provide strongly typed access to the entities.

To use the code sample just copy the MultiplePropertyExample folder within the zip file into a local public templates site. The Sample is dependent on PageTypeBuilder.

The sample contains some entity classes, property classes and a couple of PageTypeBuilder page types.

The sample demonstrates how you would go about building an image gallery. One page type demonstrates a single gallery with multiple images where as the other page type demonstrates multiple galleries each with multiple images.

- When using list based properties, a copy button can be added to allow an editor to copy an existing item.
- There are now some configuration settings that can be defined to set defaults for whether the copy property button and copy list item buttons should appear.
- MultiplePropertyBase is now Serializable
- There was a bug when using link item collections where the state of the list was not being maintained during post backs which is now fixed.
- There was a bug when editing a multiple property list with child multiple property lists. When you edit one then click the add new button, the new item contained child list items from the previously edited item.
